My favorite cartoon character is Hong Kong Phooey.
He’s a wonderfully ridiculous superhero: a mild-mannered dog who jumps into a filing cabinet and emerges as a kung-fu crime fighter, usually with more confidence than competence. I loved the combination of martial-arts parody, slapstick, and that unforgettable theme song. And, of course, Spot the cat was usually the one quietly making sure everything worked out.
